Ingenieros Asociados para Proyectos Estudios y Construcciones C.A. (IAPE) is an avant-garde company in the electrical sector, formed by professionals with extensive experience that was founded in 1991 in the city of Merida, Venezuela, and today has expanded its operations throughout the length and breadth of the country and also abroad.
IAPE developed, in conjunction with manufacturers of power generation equipment such as Wärtsilä, and SEPCO III, self-generation projects for oil operating companies. IAPE participated in the Llanos 27 oil field in Colombia, in which IAPE operated with IAPE’s subsidiary IAPEC Oil Gas.
IAPE has collaborated with the development of the national industry and especially with the oil and petrochemical industry by design and build several plants nationwide for self-generation of electricity to meet the electricity needs of PDVSA and PEQUIVEN, designing the most efficient generation plants in the country that operate with dual fuel (liquid and gas) reaching a consumption of less than 8500 BTU/l<Wh produced.
IAPE and HERSAL over the years have been directly related to the Venezuelan oil industry and its development. It is currently developing the respective EPCs for the electric self-generation systems of the PETROMIRANDA and PETROJUNÍN projects, both located in block 5 of the The Orinoco Heavy-Oil Belt Pilot (Faja Petrolífera del Orinoco.)
Both projects are each made up of a power generation plant with two Wärtsilä 20V32GD generators with a combined capacity of 17.4MW, operating with dual fuel, which includes the installation of all its auxiliary systems. The projects have been designed to operate with crude oil (DCO) and/or natural gas.
The scope of the project includes: engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the plant and its auxiliary systems, including a 20MVA 13.8/34.5 KV substation.
Located in the industrial heart of the city of Cumaná on Av. Rotaria, El Peñón industrial zone.
